Privacy Statement

Last updated: 16 August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how AirportTransfer Schiphol handles personal data when you use our website, booking service, customer account or mobile app.

1. Who is responsible for your data?

AirportTransfer Schiphol is a trading name of LuchthavenExpress B.V., the provider of the booked transport service and the controller of your personal data.

LuchthavenExpress B.V.

MijnTaxiritten B.V. provides the technical booking, planning and app platform on our behalf. Selected drivers and transport partners receive only the information they need to perform the journey.

2. Data we collect

Depending on how you use our services, we may process:

  • name, email address, telephone number and account details;
  • the details of the person making the booking and, where different, the traveller;
  • pick-up and drop-off addresses, journey dates and times, flight number and flight status;
  • number of passengers, luggage, vehicle category, special requests and comments;
  • booking history, changes, cancellations, messages and operational journey events;
  • payment status, invoices, credits and information required for financial administration;
  • device and app information, push-notification token, language, security logs and IP/network information;
  • photos, screenshots or PDF files that you choose to submit for flight-ticket recognition;
  • customer-service communications, complaints and fraud- or safety-related records.

The customer app does not continuously track the customer’s location. Driver location may be shown to a customer when this is necessary for an assigned or active journey.

3. Why we use personal data

We use personal data to:

  • calculate a fare and create, manage and perform bookings;
  • match a journey with a suitable driver and vehicle;
  • monitor flights and adjust airport pick-up planning;
  • send confirmations, journey updates, messages and push notifications;
  • enable secure contact between customer, traveller, driver and planning;
  • process payments, invoices, refunds, credits and accounting records;
  • provide customer support and handle changes, cancellations and complaints;
  • protect accounts, prevent fraud and investigate security or safety incidents;
  • meet tax, transport, insurance and other legal obligations;
  • measure and improve the reliability and usability of our website and app.

4. Legal grounds

We process data because it is necessary to enter into or perform the transport agreement, to comply with legal obligations, and for legitimate interests such as service reliability, security, fraud prevention and customer support. Where the law requires consent, for example for an optional device permission or certain cookies, you may withdraw that consent at any time.

5. When you book for another person

If you make a booking for someone else, you must be authorised to provide that traveller’s details and must inform the traveller that we will use those details to perform the journey. The traveller receives operational journey information but does not automatically receive the booker’s private financial information.

6. Who receives data?

We share data only where needed with:

  • assigned drivers, transport partners and planning personnel;
  • MijnTaxiritten B.V. as the technical platform provider;
  • hosting, email, telephony, push-notification and security providers;
  • Mollie or another displayed payment provider;
  • Jortt and other accounting or invoicing providers where applicable;
  • Google Maps/Routes and address services for routes, distance and address selection;
  • flight-data and ticket-recognition providers when you use those functions;
  • Apple and Google for app distribution, device services and notifications;
  • public authorities, insurers or advisers when required by law or for a justified claim.

We do not sell personal data and we do not use customer data for third-party advertising.

7. International transfers

Some technology providers may process limited data outside the European Economic Area. Where this occurs, we use an approved legal safeguard, such as an adequacy decision or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses, and limit the data to what is necessary.

8. Retention

We do not keep personal data longer than necessary. Our standard retention periods are:

  • technical route, network and context logs: up to 90 days;
  • journey and planning messages: up to 1 year;
  • full operational booking and journey data: up to 2 years after completion or cancellation;
  • minimum financial administration, invoices and tax records: at least 7 years;
  • push tokens and current app/device status: while the device or account is actively linked;
  • account data: until deletion, subject to records we must retain by law.

After the operational retention period, booking data is deleted or anonymised. We may temporarily suspend deletion for a specific booking if this is necessary for a complaint, accident, fraud investigation, unpaid amount or legal claim.

9. Security

We use access controls, encrypted connections, secure session storage, logging, backups and role-based permissions. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Please keep your password and device secure and contact us immediately if you suspect misuse.

10. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or objection. You may also withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. We may ask you to verify your identity.

You can change many details in your account and request account deletion directly in the app. Full instructions are available on our account deletion page.

Send privacy requests to info@airporttransferschiphol.nl. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

11. Cookies and website measurement

Our website uses necessary cookies for security, language, account sessions and the booking process. Optional measurement or marketing cookies are used only where permitted and, when required, after your consent. You can change cookie choices in your browser or through the website’s cookie settings where available.

12. Children

Our service is intended for adults making transport bookings. A child may travel only as part of a booking made by an authorised adult. Children should not create an account or submit personal data independently.

13. Changes

We may update this policy when our service, suppliers or legal obligations change. The current version and update date will always be published on this page.
