These Terms and Conditions apply to airport-transfer bookings and related services offered under the name AirportTransfer Schiphol.
1. Company details
AirportTransfer Schiphol is a trading name of LuchthavenExpress B.V., Schieland 22, 8245 GH Lelystad, the Netherlands, Chamber of Commerce number 73321605. Contact: info@airporttransferschiphol.nl, +31 85 060 3233.
2. Definitions
- We/us: LuchthavenExpress B.V., trading as AirportTransfer Schiphol.
- Booker: the person or organisation making the booking and responsible for it.
- Traveller: the person who will actually travel, if different from the booker.
- Customer: the booker and, where relevant, the traveller.
- Journey: the booked transport for a specified date, time and route.
- Account/app: the customer environment used to view and manage bookings and communications.
3. Application of these terms
These terms apply to every quote, booking, change, cancellation and journey made through our website, app, account or an authorised booking channel. A deviation applies only if we confirm it in writing.
4. Formation of the agreement
A booking is created when the customer submits it and our system registers it. The booker receives a confirmation by email or in the account/app. The customer must check the confirmation immediately and report an error without delay.
5. Account and app
An account may be created automatically or linked to the booker’s email address. The account and app can be used to view journey information and, where available, request a change or cancellation, communicate about the journey and access invoices or credits.
Changes and cancellations must be made through the account or app when that function is available. A telephone call, WhatsApp message, text message or email does not change a booking unless we expressly confirm the change.
The customer is responsible for keeping login details and devices secure and for the correctness of information changed in the account.
6. Correct booking information
The customer must provide complete and accurate names, contact details, addresses, dates, times, flight information, passenger numbers, luggage, vehicle category and special requirements. If the booker books for another traveller, that traveller must be reachable on the traveller telephone number provided.
Incorrect or incomplete information may cause delay, additional costs, a different vehicle requirement or cancellation without refund where the journey cannot reasonably be performed.
7. Passengers, luggage and vehicle category
The selected vehicle must be suitable for all passengers and luggage, including wheelchairs, prams, sports equipment or unusual items. Vehicle images are illustrative. We may provide a different make or model with suitable capacity.
If the actual passenger or luggage requirements do not fit the booked vehicle, the driver may refuse transport or the booking may need to be changed. Extra costs are payable by the customer.
8. Drivers and transport partners
We may perform the journey ourselves or arrange performance by an independent licensed driver or transport partner. The customer authorises us to share the information required to perform the journey.
The performing driver or carrier is responsible for safe and lawful operation, including licences, insurance, vehicle condition and driving conduct. Nothing in these terms limits any rights that cannot legally be excluded.
9. Flight information and monitoring
For airport pick-ups, the customer must provide the correct flight number and date. Flight monitoring is an operational aid and not a guarantee that every airline or airport change will be detected. The customer must contact us promptly about a missed flight, rebooking, changed flight number, route change or information that cannot be verified.
10. Airport pick-up instructions
Separate airport pick-up instructions may be provided in the confirmation, app or a PDF attachment. The traveller must follow the current airport signs and instructions, switch on the telephone when permitted after landing and remain reachable.
11. Contact with the driver
When available, contact with the assigned driver takes place through the app, customer account or a protected journey contact number. Access may be limited to the operational period around the journey. The protected number may require the last six digits of the booking number followed by the hash key (#) when the caller uses a different telephone number.
12. Messages and notifications
App messages and push notifications support practical journey communication. Delivery depends on an internet connection, device settings and third-party notification services. The customer remains responsible for checking the booking and for remaining reachable. Messages do not replace a formal booking change or cancellation.
13. Prices and payment
The price shown and accepted during booking applies to the stated journey details. Payment is made through the displayed payment method. Approved business customers may be allowed to book on account and an administration surcharge may apply.
Cash or card payment to the driver is available only if expressly shown or confirmed. Additional services, waiting time, changes, extra passengers or luggage may create an additional amount.
14. Waiting time for airport pick-ups
The operational pick-up time is based on the known landing time plus the customer’s selected number of minutes after landing. Once the driver is demonstrably at the agreed location, the traveller has 15 minutes of complimentary waiting time from the current pick-up time.
After those 15 minutes, a consumer waiting-time amount of EUR 4 including any applicable VAT applies for each fully elapsed five-minute period, unless the booking states otherwise. The app may show the current and final waiting time. The amount is paid directly to the independent driver and is not part of our booking invoice. No customer waiting charge applies before the driver has demonstrably arrived.
15. Changes
The customer may request a change through the account or app while the system permits it. Changes are generally possible until 48 hours before the journey. Within 48 hours, a change is possible only if accepted by our planning team.
A higher price must be paid before the change becomes final. A lower price may result in a credit or refund in accordance with the conditions displayed during the change.
16. Cancellation by the customer
Cancellation must be made through the account or app. A cancellation at least 48 hours before the journey normally entitles the customer to a refund or credit of the refundable amount, less any clearly disclosed non-refundable costs.
A cancellation within 48 hours of the journey is non-refundable unless we expressly decide otherwise. For a return booking, each journey leg is assessed separately.
17. Cancellation or change by us
We may cancel or reasonably change a journey if performance is impossible or unsafe, including because of incorrect information, missing payment, fraud, force majeure, severe disruption or circumstances outside our control. If a cancellation is attributable to us, the amount paid for the unperformed part will be refunded or credited, except where the cause is attributable to the customer or force majeure applies.
18. No-show
If the traveller is not at the agreed location at the required time and cannot be reached, the journey may be recorded as a no-show. We may use journey events, contact attempts and driver GPS/arrival records when assessing this. A no-show is non-refundable unless we decide otherwise.
19. Conduct and safety
The traveller must follow reasonable safety instructions, behave appropriately and take care of the vehicle. The driver may refuse or stop transport in case of threats, aggression, dangerous conduct, serious intoxication, unlawful activity, excessive nuisance, contamination or damage. Cleaning, repair and other resulting costs may be charged to the customer.
20. Delays and arrival times
Travel and arrival times are estimates. Traffic, weather, road closures, airport procedures, strikes, flight disruption and other events may affect them. The customer remains responsible for choosing sufficient time before a flight or other appointment.
21. Liability
We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, missed flights or appointments, or loss caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, except where mandatory law provides otherwise.
For a journey performed by an independent driver or carrier, that party is responsible for the actual transport operation. To the extent legally permitted, our liability is limited to direct loss and to the amount paid for the affected journey. These limits do not apply to liability that cannot legally be excluded or to our own intent or deliberate recklessness.
22. Privacy
We process personal data to provide bookings, planning, transport, payment, communication, support and legal administration. Our Privacy Policy explains the data, recipients, retention periods and customer rights.
23. Complaints
Send a complaint as soon as possible and preferably within 14 days after the journey to info@airporttransferschiphol.nl. Include the booking number and relevant details. A complaint does not automatically suspend a payment obligation.
24. Right of withdrawal
The statutory cooling-off right for many online purchases generally does not apply to passenger transport scheduled for a specific date or period. The cancellation rules in these terms therefore apply.
25. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version accepted at booking applies to that booking unless a later change is required by law or is more favourable to the customer.
26. Law and disputes
Dutch law applies. Disputes are submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands, without limiting any mandatory consumer right to bring proceedings elsewhere.
